Za’atar (Hyssop) bread that’s fun to slice and toast

If you don‘t like za’atar (hyssop), you can of course replace it with some other interesting spice like garlic, caraway, anise, or fennel.

Ingredients (1 loaf):
7 eggs
75 g melted butter or coconut oil
50 g almond flour (you can use very finely ground almonds or buy readymade flour)
50 g coconut flour (can be found in health food and various online stores)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp dried za’atar (hyssop)

What to do:
Preheat the oven to 165° C/320° F and grease a loaf pan. (Or put baking paper in the pan.)
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Add the eggs and the fat and stir well.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
Bake for about 40 minutes until the bread gets a nice light brown color.
Take the pan out of the oven and let cool.
Serve with butter, cheese and a cup of tea.
