DINAHi,

My name is Dina, and I’m an LCHF (Low Carb High/Healthy Fat) nutritionist.
I am happy and excited to tell you about LCHF and how it helps people reach their optimal health!

I was born and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. I always enjoyed cooking and baking, and as long as I can remember I was interested in nutrition. I even took some courses at the University of Uppsala. In 1985 I moved to Israel and worked in many areas, from hotels to high-tech. But my dream to open my own coffee shop and serve pastries and authentic Swedish delicacies led me to the Hadassah College in Jerusalem where I learn to be a pastry chef. Over the years, I married, gave birth to two children, and found that, like most women, I managed to gain a few extra kilos along the way.

Of course, knowing nutrition and cooking, I thought I knew about healthy eating, and how to lose weight. So I ate “healthy-whole-grains”, “fruit-n-vegetables”, and “low-fat-everything”. I drank lots of water and exercised occasionally. I felt good and vital, but could not shed those extra kilos and my doctor urged me to keep an eye on my cholesterol and blood sugar, as I was at risk for type 2 diabetes.

I was hesitant about what to do until I stumbled upon the LCHF diet a few years ago. Truth be told, it sounded too good to be true. The LCHF lifestyle promised that I could enjoy many of my favorite foods!
I could eat to satiety and enjoy butter, fatty cheeses, and even a glass of wine from time to time, without guilt or bad conscience as long as I reduced my carbohydrate intake, giving up on bread, pasta, rice, and potatoes.

The variety of wonderful foods that the LCHF approach made available to me made me want to try it right away! But since I’m a curious person, I felt I should explore the idea and its biochemical basis before indulging in all those goodies.
I soon discovered that the LCHF approach is well established in science, and even turns on their heads all the nutritional myths I grew up with! I got excited having “permission” to continue eating favorite foods, and very soon I realized that I also felt much better than I could have imagined! I started my own health revolution, and found a new professional direction.

A few years ago I went to Sweden to study nutrition and qualified as an LCHF nutritionist. Since then I have been involved, in Israel and abroad, in LCHF nutrition and its accompanying lifestyle, helping others regain their health, balance their physical conditions, and achieve optimal weight.
I offer consulting (individually and in groups); training and support for anyone who wants to live a truly healthy, tasty and more enjoyable life; lectures on various topics related to nutrition and our health; a correspondence course, and more.
I am constantly continuing to learn and delve deeper into the subject, and of course, I wrote a cookbook devoted to LCHF nutrition.
